The challenge

Our objective is to spark a conversation between strangers through art, at the same time support local artists.

Ideation Proccess

When we first got the brief, our first impression was to create a utilitarian product that would help people to cope with the COVID-19 world pandemic. After some research, we noticed that there are plenty solution focusing on help keeping social distancing between each other, but there are only few solutions that are focused on Emotional Distancing.

Pandemics can be stressful, Fear and anxiety about a new disease and what could happen can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. Public health actions, such as social distancing, can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. However, these actions are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Coping with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

Concept

We wanted to give some happiness and meaning to the people that are taking public transportation these days - especially in Metros. Kind of like small pieces, doses of art on the way.

We combined UGC (User Generated Content) with arts, any type of arts. You can upload video, 3D art, Audio, Image, Paint and whatever the user want. After the submitted art has been approved, you'll get notified in which metro station you can view your work. Well, it wont be there physically, but using Artdose app you can scan the station and reveal amazing artworks all around you - using AR technology.

Iconography

We wanted to create an art direction that lives within Barcelona city. We also knew that using UGC for our app will limit us with the design because we can't really know what content will lay inside of the app so we need to keep it as simple and clean as we can.

This is where icons came to the rescue! Icons are the most simple shape that our eyes can catch, therefore, we're using iconic sights of Barcelona as our base for the whole art direction.

Colors palette

As I mentioned, we want to keep the UI of the app super clean and readable, but yet to catch the eye with bold and strong colors, contracted to each other. This is how we'll connect all the marketing pieces together.
